A blog about putting health first: physically (food and exercise), mentally (thought-life) and spiritually (faith).

Hi there!

withThe SHThis blog was born out of a desire to chronicle our lives and regularly update our family/friends out there in the big wide world. In addition, it also follows our little family’s journey to a balanced, healthy and contagiously overjoyed life.

It’s not easy to put health first when you live a busy life, have a small budget and are presented with tons of unhealthy choices each day. But I have learned over the years that it’s not impossible. It just requires a little bit of extra effort, some planning and determination to succeed. That is true in all areas of health: spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health as well. So no more excuses. Start today! There is SO much more that life has to offer. Don’t settle for less! Say NO to whatever is holding you back from living a fully joyful, truly content and well-balanced life. The first steps of self-disciplines are always the hardest. But it’s comforting to know that it does get better over time as good habits gradually turn into a lifestyle. Your body, mind and soul are designed to be a very complex machine. It’s not a coincidence that they all work hand-in hand. Believe me, if you use high quality "fuel" and treat it right, it won’t let you down. Honestly, it’s the best investment that you will ever make! I don’t pretend to be an expert on the matter. My husband and I are just two (deeply-in-love) average Joes who got sick of feeling lousy, sluggish and lifeless from all the poor choices we were making before. So we made some serious changes in the areas of eating and exercise, prayer and self-reflection, as well as giving, serving and reaching out to others. We realized how much we didn’t live in the freedom that God intended for us to live. As a result our love for God, for each other and those around us has been growing and blooming, more than ever before!

We’re extremely excited about what the future has in store for us. Life is an exciting journey, full of new, adventurous experiences and discoveries. Wanna come along?  Well then, make yourself at home, stay as long as you’d like and click away to your heart’s content.
